- Managing Senior Partner

Managing partner, works 7 sessions. Clinical interests renal (kidney) medicine, respiratory (breathing) and anticoagulation (blood thinning) clinics. Also performs joint injections.

Is a GP trainer and has been an undergraduate tutor for both  doctors in training and physician’s associates at the University of Birmingham.

Sub-locality Lead for the Birmingham and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group.

Originally from Birmingham. Interests include eating, reading, watching the occasional football match, and if feeling adventurous doing all three at the same time.

I have been at Jiggins Lane Medical Centre since May 2015. In that time I have been elected onto the board of Our Health Partnerships and also onto the Birmingham Local Medical Committee, as I have a keen interest in both local and national medico-politics. I am also currently working as the co-clinical director of QCAPS, a pilot referral quality improvement scheme, for the Northfield Alliance.

I blog occasionally (see www.ourhealthpartnership.com, Huffington Post, BMJ Blog, Pulse Today) and spend a good deal of time engaging enjoyably with GPs and doctors on social media. I also write songs, walk the dog and occasionally go rock climbing. I try to balance my work and interests with being a good husband and father!

Qualifying as a doctor in 2008, Dr Stewart spent his early career in the West Midlands.  He joined the Jiggins Lane team as a salaried GP in 2015, becoming a partner in the practice by 2017. In a short timeframe the practice trained and enabled him to expand his interests to become the clinical lead for heart failure, co-clinical lead for diabetes, with additional roles including oversight of clinical governance and significant events.

A husband and father, Dr Stewart tries exceptionally hard to enjoy peppa pig. Roles at home include being chief dog walker, hooverer, and taker out of the bins.
